Character Setup Artist
Location/Department: Visual Art & Design
Description/Duties: ● Create and refine 3D character models using industry-standard techniques
● Develop character rigs and skeletal systems for animation production
● Maintain organized file structures and follow naming conventions
● Assist with technical documentation and tutorials for character setup processes
● Create rig training/walk through for animators
Qualifications: ● Must be a Computer Animation major
● Completion of Character Design course OR extensive technical animation background
● Proficient in Autodesk Maya for modeling and character rigging
● Strong understanding of anatomy and character proportions
● Knowledge of skinning, weight painting, and deformation techniques
● Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Portfolio demonstrating character modeling and rigging work
Hours: 10-24
Pay Rate: Based on class standing and experience level
