Art Annex Studio Crew
Location/Department: School of Visual Art & Design
Description/Duties: The Art Annex Studio Crew helps provide film and graphic design students with the equipment they need to complete their assignments, build their portfolios, and graduate with industry-ready skills.
As a Studio Crew member, you’ll learn to use a variety of production equipment while helping fellow students do the same. You’ll also join the School of Visual Art & Design’s tight-knit student community.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Facilitate equipment check-outs and returns for students.
* Organize and maintain equipment inventory.
* Clean & organize studio areas.
* Provide support to students working in studio spaces.
* Instruct students in the proper use of equipment.
* Ensure students abide by SVAD's policies and best practices while using equipment.
* Perform basic equipment maintenance when possible (not a required skill).
* Fulfill other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Characteristics of a Studio Crew member:
* Persistent: You are proactive, self-motivated, and focused while on the clock.
* Curious: You love learning how to use new equipment and are constantly seeking better ways to do your work.
* Organized: You take pride in creating and maintaining efficient systems of organization.
* Communicative: You err on the side of over-communication with team members and supervisors, and you are eager to collaborate and ask for help.
Additional qualifications:
* Basic familiarity with production equipment (camera, lighting, audio, etc.) and willingness to acquire on-the-job knowledge.
* Ability to safely lift items weighing over 50 lbs.
* Basic computer skills.
Hours: This role typically requires 8-12 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours as needed or requested.
Pay Rate: Based on class standing
