Recruiting at Collegedale Academy

The English Department works hard to recruit students to become English majors at Southern. Here is a photo of a recent trip the department chair Keely Tary took to Collegedale Academy in Tennessee.

Dr. Tary loves to talk with students interested in the same world she is—the world of English language and literature. The English Department’s booth provides students interested in English with some useful swag as well as free advice about how valuable the English major can be in today’s work world.

When recruiting, the English Department displays some well-known books showing evidence that English can be a great major. Hey, if you want to look at one of the books we have, just ask! We would be happy to send you a copy.
