Southern Mentors
What They Do
Not only does Southern offer classes to help new students understand campus and
get into the swing of college life, we go a step further and pair each new student
with a mentor. Our mentors are fellow students who have been at Southern for at least
a year or two and who know how to successfully navigate the university.
These mentors work with a team of faculty to ensure that the new students receive the best advice and resources to promote their academic, social, and spiritual success.
Mentors plan social gatherings in small groups to provide a sense of community. They also plan worships for their group and attend their group’s Southern Connections class in order to develop a connection with the students.
