The Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum is free.HOURS
Monday - Thursday:
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday:
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday:
2 to 5 p.m.
We are closed during the summer months (May-August) and Southern Adventist University

Visitor Guidelines & Questions
What can I bring into the museum?
- Purses are allowed, but backpacks are not allowed. They can be left on the benches in the museum lobby.
- No water bottles or other liquids are permitted.
- Strollers and front-facing baby carriers are welcome. Jogging strollers and wagons are not allowed.
- Mobility scooters are allowed.
- Service dogs are welcome.
Can I take photos in the museum?
- You are allowed to take photos of the Peace and War exhibit until April 2025.
- Non-flash photography and video for personal are not allowed for the Permanent exhibit.
How can I ensure a safe experience for everyone?
- The Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum does not tolerate verbally abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or threatening statements or behavior toward Museum staff or other visitors.
- Conduct that poses any risk to other visitors, the Museum’s staff, or the Museum’s collection, such as running, rough play, and disruptive behavior, is prohibited.
- Playing music and video, performing unauthorized performances, and using sound amplification or noisemakers (except for assistive listening devices) are prohibited.
- Keep doorways, and hallways accessible to other visitors; do not sit on the floor.
- Do not carry children or other guests on your shoulders.
- Children twelve and under must be always accompanied by an adult.
- Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in the Museum or near the entrances.
- Use of electrical outlets in the Museum is prohibited.
- For health and safety reasons, shirts and shoes are required.

DIRECTIONS
Heading North on I-75 (from Chattanooga or Atlanta)
- Take the Volkswagen Drive exit, #9.
- Keep right at exit ramp to merge onto Volkswagen Drive.
- Go straight at the traffic light to merge onto (TN-317) Apison Pike.
- Continue on Apison Pike for approx. 3.2 miles. Go straight past the second traffic light and follow the road around the bend towards Southern Adventist University.
- Turn right onto Colcord Drive. If you get to the four-way stop, you have gone too far.
- Keep right to stay on Colcord Drive. Follow the signs to museum parking.
- Continue on Colcord Drive for 0.3 miles. Museum parking will be on the left.
- Proceed up the stairs to Hackman Hall (the two-story brick building). The museum entrance is on the South (right) side. The museum is located on the ground floor.
- For handicap parking, head South (right) after turning into the parking area and follow the ramp up to the parking spots behind the building.
Heading South on I-75 (from Cleveland or Knoxville)
- Take the Ooltewah exit, #11.
- Turn left after exit onto (US-11) Lee Highway.
- Turn right onto Little Debbie Parkway (at the second traffic light).
- Turn left onto (TN-317) Apison Pike (Little Debbie Parkway ends).
- Continue on Apison Pike for approx. 1.6 miles. Go straight at the traffic light and follow the road around the bend towards Southern Adventist University.
- Turn right onto Colcord Drive. If you get to the four-way stop, you have gone too far.
- Keep right to stay on Colcord Drive. Follow the signs to museum parking.
- Continue on Colcord Drive for 0.3 miles. Museum parking will be on the left.
