Art Annex Production Studio
The School of Visual Art and Design (SVAD) at Southern Adventist University aims to
provide students with state-of-the-art production equipment and studio facilities.
Through their use of this equipment in academic assignments, students prepare themselves
to enter the workforce with industry-relevant skills. Students enrolled in SVAD classes
may use the equipment and facilities housed within the Art Annex Studio as outlined
in the SVAD Equipment Policy Manual.

Check-out Authorization Process for SVAD Students
- Study the SVAD Equipment Policy Manual.
- Pass the SVAD Equipment Policy Quiz with a score of 100 percent. The quiz is open-book and can be taken as many times as necessary.
- Fill out the "Equipment Policy Agreement and Waiver Release" found on the last page of the policy manual. Printed copies of the release are available at the Studio front desk.
- Hand the signed waver to a Studio Crew member at the Art Annex during open hours.
- Please allow at least one business day for your information to be processed.
Interdepartmental Rentals
Equipment and studio space at the Art Annex Studio may be available for rental by
other campus departments, student organizations, and students from other academic
programs, subject to availability.

- SVAD student needs take priority over all external rentals.
- All rentals are charged according to the SVAD equipment rental rate sheet. A 20% discount applies to interdepartmental and student rentals.
- Rental reservation requests may be submitted up to two weeks in advance by calling (423) 236-2094 or emailing mmoyer@southern.edu.
- SVAD reserves the right to modify or deny rental reservations within 48 hours of the request.
- Renters assume full responsibility for all lost, stolen, or damaged equipment while in their care.
