BS Nursing Degree
The School of Nursing now offers two pre-licensure pathways to become a Registered
Nurse: AS RN to BSN and Pre-licensure BSN.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) articulated program is designed to provide
a seamless transition from the AS to the RN to BSN. The RN to BSN program offers two
options: on campus and online. The on-campus program can be completed in two or more
semesters depending on the general education/cognate requirements needed. The online
program is part time and is usually completed in four semesters. Transfer students
who are graduates of ACEN accredited Associate and Diploma Nursing Programs may apply
for acceptance into the RN to BSN nursing program.
The Pre-licensure BSN program is designed as a five- or six-semester program, with
entry in semester three or four of a traditional eight-semester college experience.
The student will enter the five-semester program with approximately 40-45 credit hours
earned, and the six-semester program with approximately 30-35 credit hours earned,
including most general education and cognate courses. The BSN curriculum is rich with
skills, simulation, and clinical experiences that immediately allow the student to
                                 apply theory to practice.
