Parents Weekend 2025. Enjoy a weekend with your student and experience a taste of life at Southern.

Below is a schedule for Parents Weekend 2025.

Friday - Feb. 14
Registration - 8am-10pm Thatcher & Talge Halls
Classes - Attend with your student, 8am-2pm
Vespers - 6:30pm - Student Missions, University Church
Afterglow - 7:30pm
Vespers - 8:30pm - Student Missions, University Church

Sabbath - Feb. 15
Adoration - 9am, University Church
Connect - 9am, CA Elementary Gym
Renewal - 11:45am, University Church
Merge - 11:45am, CA Elementary Gym
Lunch - 12:30pm - 2:30pm, Dining Hall 
Nature opportunities - Campus Trails, Collegedale Greenway, Chattanooga Riverwalk
Origins Exhibit (Hickman Hall) - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Archaeological Museum (Hackman Hall) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Outreach opportunity (Bietz Center for Student Life, 1st Floor) - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Academy Honors Choir Festival (Collegedale SDA Church) - 4pm
Supper - 6pm - 8pm, CK2 (Bietz Center for Student Life, 2nd floor)
Rees Series finals (Iles PE Center) - 7:30pm

Sunday - Feb. 16
Doors open for brunch - 9am, Dining Hall (ticket required for entry)
Brunch featuring Comedian: John Branyan
10am, Dining Hall (RSVP required by Feb 3rd) Due to capacity restrictions, we are no longer taking reservations.
McKee Southern 6 Trail Race - 1pm - 3pm (must be signed up to participate by midnight, February 14th) Sign up here

Things to do Around Town
  • Coolidge Park - Walk around the park with great views of the river and Walnut Street Bridge. Play in the interactive water fountain. Check out the historical carousel as well.
  • Creative Discovery Museum - Great to entertain kids if you are bringing younger ones along. Lots of interactive science exhibits and a place to learn and have fun.
  • Rock City - See seven different states, visit the beautiful gardens, and enjoy the breathtaking view. It is recommended to buy ticket reservations in advance.
  • Ruby Falls - Visit the tallest underground cave waterfall. Enjoy cave adventures, zip lining, treehouse lodging, and more. 
  • Escape Experience - Can you escape? Ever wanted to stop a runaway train? What about finding an inheritance?  Find the clues and try to solve the puzzle before time runs out.
