SouthEast Bank generously contributed $28,000 in scholarships for Southern students in August. SouthEast Bank annually awards $7,000 to one new freshman, per year for a total $28,000 after four years. The scholarships, which have additional criteria beyond grade level, are generally given to students majoring in business, finance, or accounting.

Caitlyn Bartlett, senior marketing major, was one of the fortunate recipients of the award. She explained why receiving this scholarship was such a blessing.

“It means I’ll be graduating this coming May without any loan debt, which means the world to me,” Bartlett said.

Other current students receiving the scholarship are: junior financial management, Joelle Kanyana; sophomore biology major, Jesse Darwin; and freshman long-term health care administration major, Laurence Chaij.

SouthEast Bank, which was founded in 2002 and includes 11 locations in Tennessee, began partnering with Southern Adventist University in 2011; it has increased its level of scholarship funding every year since.
